Announcement - 3/4/2020
In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and the significant impact this is having on society including cancer patients and the cancer research community, the funding partners CRUK, AIRC and FC AECC in Great Britain, Italy and Spain, have decided to delay the current Accelerator Award round by approximately 6 months.
The primary driver is to support those in our research community, particularly those whose are directly focussed on tackling coronavirus.
We hope that by postponing the upcoming deadline for Expressions of Interest to Autumn 2020 (exact date to be confirmed), it will allow teams to prepare their submissions at a time when we have all begun to recover from the impact of the virus.
CRUK, AIRC, and FC AECC are aware that the situation is constantly evolving and as such in 3 months’ time we will review this decision, to ensure that the new Autumn deadline is still feasible within the expected climate at that point.
Please also note that we are reviewing the annual review process for current awards with the aim of minimising any requests or requirements at this difficult time.
